Introduction

Oxford Hard fescue is an elite fine fescue variety known for its dark color, fine leaf texture, drought tolerance, disease and insect resistance. It is 100% endophyte enhanced. Oxford ranked #1 for quality rating grown under shade in the 2005 NTEP trials making it ideal for lower maintenance areas as well as fine turf areas. It also ranked high for genetic color, shade tolerance, and drought tolerance. Oxford is well adapted for mixtures with bluegrass, perennial ryegrass, and other fine fescues in cool season mixtures requiring shade and drought tolerance. It is an ideal selection for sod production mixtures and golf course roughs where the “Links look” is desired.
