Ultracoat

What is Ultracoat™ coating?

  • Ultracoat is a phosphate based seed coating used to improve the performance of our best seed products including forage grass, turf grass, alfalfa, legumes, and canola.
  • Ultracoat is an improved version of a coating that has been used in Western Canada for more than 20 years.

What does it do?

  • The nutrient coating helps with early seedling development.
  • Improves seed flowability.
  • Helps isolate users from chemical seed treatments.

Why Coatings Add Value?

  • No dusting.
  • Increased safety for user.
  • Improved flowability.
  • Nutrient pack – better start.
  • Visibility in soil.
  • Nutrient coatings have been shown to have a positive effect on yield.

How does it work?

  • The modes of action include the beneficial effects of precisely placed nutrients with the emerging seeds.
  • The polymers and additives help with initial seed contribution and dust reduction. The bulking effect of the coating and layering helps with seed flow and user safety.

How much does it cost?

  • Ultracoat doesn’t change the price or recommended seed rate for a bag of seed.

Recommendations when using Ultracoat seed

  • Because of the improved seed flow we highly recommend proper seeding equipment calibration with each lot of seed.
