Market Opportunities for BioBoost®

The current market potential of BioBoost® to be applied in canola is about 16 million acres in Western Canada and about 1 million acres in the Northern United States. With the emphasis on biofuel generated from canola, the Canadian canola acreage is expected to be over 17 million acres within five years with some expansion expected in the U.S. canola market as well. Beyond North America, there is a huge European rapeseed market and a substantial Australian market that exists for BioBoost® as well. BioBoost® is being sold as a seed treatment in Canada and in the U.S. and as a foliar application for canola (U.S. only).

The potential market for BioBoost® Plus is even greater with over 80 million acres of soybeans grown in North America. Additionally, a large market exists in South America, particularly in Brazil and Argentina. Currently BioBoost® Plus is being marketed as an easy to use liquid formulation in the U.S. only. BioBoost® plus uses the synergy between the Bradyrhizobium and the PGPR.

The potential market for BioBoost® is currently being closely evaluated for corn in the U.S. With corn acres at close to 90 million acres, and the importance of this crop to North America, this is a primary focus for BrettYoung. Research has been conducted on corn with consideration for seed applied and foliar application. The key to success for growers is a product that adds value and is convenient to use with their current practices.

Currently under further experimentation is alfalfa, cereals, and turf by the BrettYoung’s research and development team. “These new PGPR based inoculants are patent protected and exclusively owned by BrettYoung. Therefore, with proper formulations we should be able to get into the North American market as well as other markets quite easily with a huge competitive advantage” says Dr. Manas Banerjee, former Director of Regulatory Affairs and Business Development at BrettYoung Seeds.
